Certified Senior Home Safety Specialists® on staff identify potential hazards, like loose rugs and exposed wires, and propose safety enhancements. They can also install safety equipment, including grab bars, non-slip surfaces, and other modifications to reduce in-home risks.
When evaluating home care solutions, home safety assessments in Scottsdale can be an informative first step. It’s a straightforward solution that requires no commitments, and at Bloom, it’s completely free.
The Senior Home Safety Specialist® program is a nationally recognized credential built on research-backed safety standards. It’s designed to identify even the most minor hazards that go unnoticed, and specialists are trained to help you find the solutions that effectively mitigate safety risks.
Free home safety assessments in Phoenix and Scottsdale through Bloom cover a 240-point evaluation of the home. Beyond identifying hazards, our specialists propose targeted modifications and, upon request, coordinate equipment sourcing and installation.
Safety modifications preserve physical well-being, which translates to improved emotional well-being, and they boost confidence by promoting independence and preventing injury. Senior home safety starts here.
The CDC estimates one in four people age 65+ fall each year, but less than half report it to their doctor. And when there’s one fall, the chances of falling again double. Falling is the quickest way to lose options when it comes to choosing care. By preventing falls, home safety modifications keep independent living on the table.
We understand the various different barriers that may prevent families from implementing home safety modifications, so we created the Bloom Concierge Home Care Foundation.
The Bloom Concierge Home Care Foundation’s mission is to help our community members live safely and independently by making home safety modifications accessible to everyone via need-based micro-grants. We’re currently helping the Scottsdale Fire Department close safety gaps by donating and installing home accessibility equipment for families in need.
When fire crews respond to lift assist calls, or fall-related calls that don’t result in medical transport, they’re unable to respond to urgent emergencies in their area. This forces crews from other districts to step in, delaying response time and endangering community members.
In Scottsdale alone, the fire department reports that the average number of emergency calls for falls is 500 per month. By reducing fall risk through implementing home accessibility modifications, we give time back to first responders, protecting our community directly and indirectly.
