The Bloom Concierge Home Care Foundation provides micro grants to families in the West Valley and beyond, making homes safer and aging more dignified.
Since the beginning of our marriage almost three decades ago, there have only been a handful of occasions where my wife Megan and I could quietly reflect on how lucky we are. I’m sure most people can relate, but there always seemed to be something urgent in front of us – kids, parents, health issues, work.
Don’t ask me how this snuck up on us, but when our kids inevitably moved out and we started to contemplate what retirement would look like, we were completely unprepared.
That opportunity for quiet reflection quickly brought back the feelings of luck and gratitude, but then what? The blank canvas in front of us was oddly intimidating. What originally felt like a challenge, we realized was actually an amazing blessing.
We finally had the opportunity to make a conscience decision about where we invested our efforts; and we both agreed we wanted to spend our time giving back to the community that had given us so much.
Three months later the Bloom Concierge Home Care Foundation was born. While we can’t change the world, I think we can make our neighborhood a little better every day.
The Bloom Concierge Home Care Foundation exists to support individuals in our local community who want to remain safe and independent at home. Our mission is to provide financial help through small community grants that remove barriers to aging gracefully at home. Over the next 20 years, our goal is to give $500,000 in micro-grants to projects and individuals that make home care more accessible and safer.
We help people live at home by making environments more safe through local micro grants ranging from $250 - $1,000, with the goal of giving away $500,000 over the next 20 years.
Through micro grants ranging from $250 to $1,000, the Foundation plans to give $500,000 over the next 20 years to support aging with dignity in our community.
The Bloom Concierge Home Care Foundation provides grants that can be used for:

Home safety improvements such as grab bars, ramps, or non slip flooring

Essential equipment that supports independence, including walkers or hospital beds

Community programs that encourage connection and reduce isolation

Other needs that directly support safe and dignified living at home
Do you know someone who could benefit from extra support to remain safe at home? The Bloom Concierge Home Care Foundation welcomes nominations from family members, neighbors, healthcare providers, and community partners.
Every nomination is reviewed with care and evaluated on three main factors:
Recipients selected for a grant will be contacted directly. Funds are applied toward approved services, projects, or equipment, and our team ensures the resources are delivered and installed at no cost to the family.
If a nomination is chosen, the Foundation team will visit the home to complete a safety assessment and determine which improvements will have the greatest impact. Equipment or services will then be purchased and installed free of charge.
Community members are welcome to serve on the Foundation’s selection committee. Volunteers usually commit about three hours each month, which includes one hour to review nominations and two hours for the selection process.
The Bloom Concierge Home Care Foundation is our way of reinvesting in the community we serve every day. By supporting local families with resources and improvements, we hope to extend comfort, safety, and independence to more seniors who wish to remain at home.
